Well according to the revised rules by mods .. anyone with a minimum of 10 post can sell whatever they want under the classified sections and it's up to the members of the forum to be careful when buying or selling (caveat emptor). However Jyazid post leaves a lot of question and implying that there are unhappy official members regarding about these new rules ...
While i do agree with vincent, the committee shouldn't leave the rest of us (forummers) in the dark, we shouldn't be so angry lerrr ... keep it civilised lerr :D

The Managing Committee has already made the decision, as per the wishes of the majority of the Official Members. The proper place to discuss this is during the coming AGM in March.

If one is not allowed to sell his stuff here, then he should respect the decision of the club's administrators. As I have said to the Official Members, it is not an easy decision but taking into account of all matters, that is the best way to move forward. I'd hope some of you will at least agree to disagree and let the matter rest.

We have made the decision on a particular forumer's right to post here. As to the reasons of doing so, we have deliberated it at length weighing in all the arguments and the decision is taken in the best interest of the club.

For your information, the Official Member have a indirect say in the running of the forum. The Managing Committees are voted by them and they are answerable to them during the AGM of the club. Trust me when i say that you dont want to be in their shoes when it comes to Q/A time.

All forummers are welcome for their contributions to this forum. However they should respect the collective decisions make by the Committees. As Mr. Yazid have mentioned, he dont have to answer to you on club matter and policy but that does not mean he do not welcome your contributions or any other forummers. You mis-interpret his meaning.

I still remember the time when some of you guys were so against the paying of RM300 many years ago and the heated argument arises from it. You guys have form your own forum, TT and whatnot. If that the way you guys thinks was the best, so be it!. Enough is said..

PS. I still dont know what you mean cos I am out of the picture with you guys. Have to work hard to keep paying for the installment.

The rules have been changed to minimize spammer and 1 time poster from selling their wares. There were even some suggestion to have at least 100 postings before can start a thread to sell things. This was rejected by the Committee. (see!! the committee are not unreasonable after all).

Let just say that some of you are here to sell something and make a profit out of it. In return for the FREE services, please contribute some thing back in return for this privileges. like joining our TT, events or even better still, join as a Official Member. (Then you can taroh the committee just like 1 OM did)

Until some of you joined as Official Member, I am sorry to say that you have no say in the club matter and policy. It similar to the situation where you have to be a citizen of Malaysia to vote.

Nowadays forummers are fierce and dare questioning the OM and committee, why they can't do this and that? or why their friend can't do this and that?.. asking for friends also got.. :D

Last time when I forummer also I talk a lot but when ever a debate starts involving an OM or Committee.. I keep quite. You can say I chicken or respect or polite.

One thing I don't understand some of the frequent seller here. Since this forum is so useful for you all to off load your stuffs, be it at a loss or profit, why be stingy on RM150 for the membership as a support and show your appreciation to the existence of the club, which owns the forum?! Unless the club owes u big time and now u just be a parasite and reap every benefit u can from the club.

I do not know the history behind this debate but having paid my subscription, I certainly stand behind other OM and Committee, against those who does not appreciate the existence of the club and forum.. either u be a good boy, we say sit, u sit! or here's RM1, go buy ice cream and PLAY FAR FAR!!

jarance I believe what vincent is trying to do is to find out specifically who these people are that is complaining about Lionel and to see what was it that Lionel has done to provoke these people.

It's easy to say official members are complaining about someone but when asked who and what nobody seems to be able to come up with an answer. If all this started because of things that happened years ago in the past, then all I can say to the people who complained is grow the fuck up and move on.

Now, most of you who know me personally would also know that I am a very active member in bimmersclub. Some of you might think that I am being biased and siding with Lionel on this matter but for me all I want to know is why there is a particular someone in the committee who is acting all nice and dandy in front of Lionel but stabbing him in the back when he isn't looking.

Last but not least, since it seems our committee only answers to Official Members then I shall post my questions here. You may answer this in the exclusive lounge or if you feel there is too much dirt you may call me directly whoever it is that is doing the answering. My number is 012-288 5707.

Now lets look at all the sellers in BCM & then pass judgement - does any other seller receive as much stick as Lionel does? If yes, then it's a standard that the club might want to maintain. If no, then why?

The question is for both sides (Lionel & the OC) to answer, none of us will be able to guess why.

I personally called & asked Bundy on why Lionel's thread was once deleted & the answer given to me was satisfactory, so my doubts were all cleared there and then.

Who knows after these commercial postings which profits Lionel, he will change his mind and in return he will be an OM? Easy peasy "I respect you, you respect me".

To solve this problem isn't that hard.

Just let Lionel know who did he offend, and he will personally apologise to them.

He knew clearly he did commercial posting which is wrong with no intention to annoy or offend anyone, but there isn't a need to not liking him for doing so. If the true reason for deleting his post is merely based on the reason "commercial posting", then that someone who "spread the rumours" of someone disliking Lionel should apologise to Lionel.

I suggest it would be a good idea to send a pm to all deleted thread starters in future explaining why their threads were deleted and obviously not with reasons like "someone hates you or dislike you that's why we deleted your post". Just an idea really, like any other sites when your posting/ listings were deleted, you usually get a pm explaining (regardless of whether you paid for its services or not).

Traits and characteristics of people who sell in the club forum :

scenario 1 :
Mr A finds he has bought a wrong part, shoots himself in the foot and advertises it for sale in the forum to cover medical expenses.

scenario 2 :
Mr A finds his long lost steering and puts it up for sale after figuring that his car can use only one steering at one time

scenario 3 :
Mr A goes thru a potong kereta shop looking for a used gear box and ends up buying other rare items to make some money to cover the cost of the half cut gear box he just bought....and a body "overhaul" at the nearby spa.

scenario 4 :
Mr A is a distributor of some car care products and sell it in a club forum, not knowing or knowing the fact that the club forum already has sponsors for competitor brand or similar products from another distributor who are sponsoring the forum and are partners to the club.

on another note, forumers as guest are always more than welcome to join the forum and share their experiences and join the official tt's held every 2nd friday of the month. forumers are never ever descriminated and made to sit in different tables.

forumers can also sell stuff in the forum as long as not commercially based otherwise other companies will also want to post and where does it all end? and if the other company cannot advertise, then some people will say this or that. there has to be a limit somewhere....no?

no forumer is ever forced to become an official member but this also means that only official paying members have more rights as to the policies and day to day running of the club as stated in the clubs constitution. similar situation where malaysians citizens cannot vote for barack obama or the american idol...duhhhh!

I think the issue here is pretty simple, Lionel is not happy with the fact that his postings were deleted and others are not.

Well, I do agree in a way how the committee replied, but I do think it's unfair for Lionel as well. If one is not allowed to do commercial posting, everyone shouldn't be allowed as well. If one is, then everyone should be. Don't think there should be any double standards here. Unless if you tell Lionel's got face problem, then that's fair enough. Don't have to beat around the bushes saying people complaining etc. I think that's pretty much, crap?

As for club membership, it's history. Till today, i still think every club is the same regardless of whatever the name is. We are upholding the name, the pride of the ride, and the friends we have, it's just priceless. We are all here sharing and contributing, if some are unable to contribute financially, then they contribute what they can. Who knows after these commercial postings which profits Lionel, he will change his mind and in return he will be an OM? Easy peasy "I respect you, you respect me".

I felt compelled to reply to this as there are numerous stories/allegations flying around which warrant my attention.

First of all, Lionel Koh has been personally informed of the managing committee's decision on his commercial postings and the reasons behind it. And now I have been informed of stories from the grapevine that someone from the committee has got a personal grudge against Lionel and hence using the Official Members as an excuse to remove his commercial postings.

There are numerous people out there that is taking this opportunity to spin up stories alleging someone is behind all this. Let me just say this, this Lionel Koh issue has nothing to do with the clubs. Anyway, I shall talk a little history about the formation of bimmersclub, so that no one could take opportunity to imply someone has backstabbed them.

AS the President of this club, I have always extended my invitation to all BMW enthusiasts and clubs in our events such as Bimmerfest, Treasure Hunt and the recent Gymkhana. Some clubs even put up their club banners of which I have generously allowed, which normally most organisers wouldn't have done so.

Again, if I am against these clubs, I wouldn't have given them the opportunity to garner more publicity. I always believe in different strokes for different folks, join whatever club that is best for you but the least we can all do is to agree to disagree and respect the direction and decision the club has made.

And I was there with Vincent and the late Jsen when they asked my opinion about them forming bimmersclub, due to their disagreement of the then committee's decision to restrict certain parts (technical section) of the forum to forumers and make it available to Official Members only. Lionel was never in the picture, and wasn't the one behind the forming of Bimmersclub.

I respected their decision and told them it is their right to go ahead and do what is right for them. I then informed the ex president to reconsider the decision of restricting access for forumers as there are other ways of making the membership exclusive, of which the president agreed and that is what we have now, unrestricted access to all parts of the forum, except the Members Lounge.

And all this while I have maintained a cordial relationship with most of the bimmersclub members, and even introduced an official member that has now been active in their activities.

As for Lionel Koh's commercial threads, there are removed because :-

1) it is purely commercial as he has his own shop
2) complaints from official members

Before I proceed further, I would like to point out this issue was brought up in the committee meeting by two of my committee members that have received complaints from the Official Members on why Lionel Koh's threads shall be removed. As a matter of fact, one Official Member have started a thread on this in the Member's Lounge. The committee has deliberated on this extensively and a collective decision was made, taking into the account of the club's interest and it was conveyed to Lionel Koh himself, as I have said previously.

Therefore I am deeply saddened with the turn of events, where some are implying that the committee is using the official members complaints as an excuse to remove Lionel Koh's commercial threads. There is not an iota of truth in this, and personally I myself do not have anything against Lionel.

I'd agree that there could be others that are also doing some small time commercial business, in a sense that they frequent chop shops and then sell some of these stuff on the forum for a small gain. The committee has agreed to let this people off as it is difficult for us to monitor and determine what is commercial or not , but as Jarance has shown, we do removed commercial postings of others (proper set-ups) as well, in a frequent manner and some of these people are friends and one of them is even an official member (joe) that has stopped selling.

So to put everything in a nutshell, Lionel's postings are removed because his dealings are purely commercial with a proper shop setup and complaints from Official Members. As to the Official Members that complained about Lionel, I feel it is their right to complain via the proper channel and I will leave it up to them to reveal themselves or not. There is a thread in the Members Lounge discussing about this already and it is more than obvious that none of the committee members have any personal vendetta to axe with Lionel Koh as alleged. To further add on, the two committee members that raised this issue in the monthly meeting were Yazid and Pussy.

Last but not least, I'd hope everyone can at least agree to disagree and I want to make this clear to everyone that BMW CLub Malaysia is a proper club with AGM held every year and officially recognised by the International Council of BMW Car Clubs.

The decision to make rules/regulations are always discussed amongst the Official Members before it is being implemented by the Managing Committee, and the Managing Committee is only answerable to the Official Members. In other words, we are a Members' Club, and the club is not run solely by an individual, be it me or someone else as my fellow committee members can attest of what normally transpires in our monthly committee meeting.

I do not expect everyone to agree with the Committee's decision but the least what everyone can do is to respect it and if anyone feel marginalised, that person can always join as an Official Member and voice his grievances in the coming AGM to be held in March.

Few things in my mind now tat i need to express here and i hope this case will be rest from now .......

1st let me say something about my posting ............As i mentioned to u and Pussy before , the main intention i do my posting is NOT for selling .............I just want to find out why always my thread were deleted but others not ????? I still remember the reasons u gave me about a year back tat its merely commercial posting and none of others and also bcos of official sponsor issue tat i buy ur explanation and said they must the a standard to control of classified wat so called "Commercial Posting " and apply to all and hopefully its not only apply to me and i also stop posting for a period of time ......

However after a while , i found out lot of commercial posting in the forum and seem committee allowed it to be go on ......Then i told myself to test it again and hopefully its not a personally again me but too bad ....My posting were deleted again and the reason given is the same ........I hold myself not to do anything untilll recently when committee announce they is not more distriction for clasiffied with seller must hv min 10 post and price must me stated there and out of sundden i believe all of here can see lot of commercial posting ........So i test it again but too bad same things happened .....My posting were deleted ........I sms Albundy and Pussy and at first same reason "commercial posting " but after im argue futher , then come out with Official members complaint and wanted it , i argue more then come out with reasons i critism, bad mouth and offended a LOT of official members and there wanted it ........This make me feel insulted cos finally i confirmed tat its a group of ppls in BCM personal against me .........At the same time i also wanted to find out wat actually i did to make tat group of ppls hated me so much and feel so offended .......If i did something really wrong then pls let me know face to face or PM or sms me .....At least i know wat is the reasons and if im really did it .....I'll deliver my apology personally .........

Who is the one to tell the whole world about it b4 everthing finalised????
